  BIO:
Washington was one of the eleven children born to Enos Starling Tuttle and Rhoda Benson, who married on 5 Sep 1819 in Clark Co., Indiana.
I found Washington, aged 22, on the 1850 Census, living in Plymouth (mistakenly noted as My Division), Marshall Co., Indiana. For some reason, he was living with Albert Bass, Albert's wife Mercy (nee Inks), the couple's three children--Adelia, Hannah and Albert, Mercy's sister, 18-year-old Julia Ann Inks, and three others that were probably lodgers--Michael Arons, aged 19, Harriet Slater, aged 19, and Thomas B. Thompson, aged 26. Albert Bass was a builder and Washington may have learned carpentry from him.
That 1850 Census was supposedly taken on September 12th, but Washington and Julia Ann married in Marshall County on September 1st, according to the record on file. As Julia was still using her maiden name Inks on the census record, perhaps the marriage date is incorrect. At any rate, the two did marry in 1850.
A year later, they welcomed the first of their four children, son Marcus F., born in 1851. Daughter Florence Belle followed in 1856. The four of them appeared together on the 1860 Census, living in Center Township, Plymouth, where Washington, aged 31, was at work as a justice of the peace. Julia, aged 27, was at home with Marcus, aged 9, and Florence, aged 4.
Circa August of 1861, Washington and Julia had their third child, a son named J. Elroy. Sadly he died eight months later on 7 Mar 1862.
Washington and Julia welcomed their fourth child Julian in January of 1870. There appear to have been complications after his birth, as a month later, Julia died on 11 Feb 1870 at age 36.
Four months later, newly widowed Washington appeared on the 1870 enumeration, taken on June 30th. He was still in Center Township but no longer working as a justice of the peace, but rather as an artist. With him were daughter Belle (Florence), aged 13, and infant son Julian, aged five months. Washington's mother, 67-year-old Rhoda Tuttle had moved in to help Washington with the two children. Also with the family was 27-year-old Anne Batt, likely a servant girl hired to help with the household chores and child care.
Washington and Julia's son Marcus was not with his father and grandmother. He had gone to live with his uncle Enos B. Tuttle, aged 32, in St. Albans, Hancock Co., Illinois. Enos was a carpenter and young Marcus also gave carpenter as his trade.
Washington mourned Julia for only six months before marrying for a second time on 28 Aug 1870 in Marshall County. It was also a second marriage for wife Henrietta Armstrong (nee Stansbury). She had previously married John D. Armstrong on 9 Nov 1856, with whom she had had two children--Olive May, born in 1857, and Harry Albertus, born in 1867.
Washington, aged 52, Henrietta, aged 48, Washington's son Julian, aged 12, and Henrietta's son Berty (Albertus), aged 10, appeared together on the 1880 Census, still in Plymouth. Washington gave photographer as his line of work.
Washington and Julia's daughter Florence Belle had married John H. Harris on 26 Feb 1874 in Marshall County, with whom she would have at least four children--William (b.1873), Albert (b.1875), Lottie (b.1882) and Welcome (b.1884).
With no 1890 Census to go on, we have to fast forward to the 1900 Census to catch back up with Washington. On 27 Aug 1894, Washington's son Julian died at age 24.
By 1900, Washington was 71 and retired. Henrietta, aged 69, reported that she had only had two children and that both had survived to that census year. Her daughter Olive had married Oliver G. Soice in 1879. They had three children together--Gertrude (b.1881), Claude S. (b.1881), and Harry J. (b.1887). I couldn't find a record for her son Harry Albertus. Lodging with Washington and Henrietta in 1900 was 29-year-old Trellah Logan, a teacher.
Not too long after that census, Washington and Henrietta moved in with Henrietta's daughter Olive and Olive's husband Oliver. Sadly, on 16 Sep 1908, Henrietta died nine days before her 76th birthday, widowing Washington for the second time. Washington, aged 81, appeared on the 1910 Census, living with step-daughter Olive, aged 52, and her husband Oliver, aged 54. Oliver was a cashier at a bank. Olive reported having had three children, all of whom had survived to that census.
Two years after that census, Washington died on 2 Dec 1912 at age 82.
