 p.512
"Dennis Tuttle, b. in Paris, Oneida Co., NY, Oct. 7, 1792; removed from Watertown, 1835, by wagon, to Ohio, halting at Urbanna a year, thence to Springfield, thence to Piqua, thence to Lebanon, thence to Cincinnati, thence to Indianapolis, Ind., thence to Terre Haute, where he died April 5, 1867. He was noted in early life for his commanding personal presence, good humor and energetic business habits; later, he suffered much from theumatic affliction of his lower limbs. In the latter part of his life he wrote an autobiographical sketch and a history of his family as far back as his great-great-grandfather, Gershom, son of Deacon Timothy Tuttle. This paper cannot be found. He married Sept. 15, 1815, Laura, daughter of Jonathan and Terza (Carpenter) Porter of Coventry, Conn., who died at the residence of her son-in-law, G. W. DORSEY, in Piqua, Ohio, Jan. 24, 1868. He died at the residence of PERRY ERIE TUTTLE, in Terre Haute, Inc., April 5, 1867; children were born in Watertown, NY."
