 "Mary Tuttle, b. Dec. 1, 1743; m. Benjamin, son of Deacon Benjamin and Ann Sedgwick, b. 1744, of Cornwall Hollow, Litchfield Co., Conn. He was brother of Gen. John and Hon. Theodore Sedgwick, LL.D. He was a merchant in Goshen, Conn., and the house which he built there a century ago is still standing in good preservation and is occupied by some of his descendants. In 1769 he removed to North Canaan, Conn., where he bought a farm and kept a store at the old meeting house corner, near Forbes' Iron works; he died June 16, 1778, age 34 years. "The sycamore trees which he planted are still flourishing; his widow lived to within my memory and I knew her. She became totally blind many years before d."--Gen. Charles F. Sedgwick. She died June 14, 1825, age 81."
