Note: Tuttle, printed & published by Tuttle & Co., Rutland, VT, 1883: p.525 "Warren Tuttle, b. Dec. 24, 1804; took up land and settled in Michigan, 1826; Justice of the Peace several years; postmaster 11 years; County Superintedent 6 years; member of Michigan Legislature and other offices; a zealous Methodist and a class leader at time of his death Sept. 17, 1849; m. June 1, 1834, Jane M., daughter of Elijah Richardson of Clinton, NY, b. Nov. 23, 1814. When 6 years of age she was taken in a wagon with her father's family from Clinton, N.Y., through Canada to Michigan. After death of her husband, she took charge of and carried on the farm, educating her children and displaying great energy and business tact; her only protector being a faithful dog; she died June 18, 1859."
