Mrs. Emma Shaffer.
The youngest and the last of a family of nine children, Mrs. Emma Waddington Shaffer, aged 76, widow of Elmer Shaffer, passed away at midnight Wednesday at her home, New Wilmington, R.D. 2, after a four days' illness.
Mrs. Shaffer was born in East Brook on April 14, 1863, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Waddington. She had resided in Wilmington township for the past 67 years and was a member of the Methodist church of New Wilmington.
She is survived by one son, Harry Shaffer of New Wilmington, Elmer Shaffer, her husband, preceded her in death on June 28, 1939.
The body is at the Campbell funeral home where the family will meet friends Friday evening between 7 and 9 o'clock. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in King's Chapel cemetery.
