a. Note:   Sarah is of Welsh descent.
  The 1900 census lists Sarah Ann living in the household of her son, William Thomas; a birth date of Jan 1830 in Ohio; both parents born in Virginia; can not read or write.
  Her husband James's birth year is uncertain. His tombstone says 1832 but this date would have him be 15 years old at the time of his first son's birth. Census records have his birth year as1825, 1832, 1826, and 1830. His wife Sarah is usually listed as 2 years older. So even though her tombstone says she was born in 1830, it is more likely she was born in 1824.
  The 1880 census lists both her father's and mother's birthplaces as Virginia.
  The connection to Simon Solomon Evans and Mary Pepple is based on a DNA match with their likey descendants.
