a. Note:   s not found until 3 days later. The eldest, Thomas,18, identified the body and Elizabeth ("Lizzie" or "Nana") was left to raise the 5 children herself. She converted part of the family dwelling, at 76 Rogers Avenue in Brooklyn, into a boarding house for "Greenhorns", newly arrived Irish immigrants.
Note:   Michael Tierney ("Pop") worked for the NYC Department of Sanitation, in their incinerator in Coney Island. He had a habit of going for a swim after work to rid himself of the soot and grime during the summer. One August (?) day he wen t in and wa
