Notes

Note: Emigrated to America, arriving aboard "The City of Richmond" and processed at Castle Garden, NYC 12 April 1875. The entire family came over wife Sarah, age 31, John Sidney Jr age 11, Thomas William, age 10, Robert, age 8, Betsy Minnie (Bess), age 6 and Mary Pauline (Polly), age 1.
The children stayed and John Sr. went back to England sometime. He came back in 1894 and passed through Ellis Island, on his way to visit Polly and her new husband Frederick Herring in Chatham, NJ, they had been married in 1892.
Robert also settled in the Chatham area, and opend a greenhouse, Bess married Isaac Erdmann, John Jr. settled in Pittsburgh where he married Ella Eberman and raised hounds and 5 children, my dad being one of them, and Thomas William apparently moved to Canada.
