 JAMES BETHEA, SR., FATHER OF LOCAL RESIDENTS, IS DEAD
 Funeral Services This Afternoon In Tallulah La.
 TALLULAH, La., Feb. 8-James E. Bethea, Sr., 70, a resident of Tallulah for the past 30 years, died in
 Vicksburg Sunday afternoon after two-weeks' illness, following a heart attack. He had been in failing
 health for several years.
  OBITUARY: Mr. Bethea was a native of Meadville, Miss. He was a Spanish-American War veteran, a Mason, and a member
 of the Methodist Church.
  OBITUARY: Funeral services will be held from the Methodist Church this afternoon at 3 o'clock, with the Rev. Henry
 R. Rickey officiating. Interment will follow in Silver Cross Cemetery here.
  OBITUARY: Mr. Bethea is survived by his wife, four sons, James E. Bethea, Jr., of Tallulah; Jack and Alfred, of
 Baton Rouge, and Bob of the United States Navy; three daughters, Mrs. G. D. Green of Leland, Miss.;
 Mrs. J. C. Abbott of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Mrs. George M. Schaffer of Vicksburg, and several grandchildren.
 Two sisters, Mrs. Ella Sample of Summitt, Miss., and Mrs. W. T. Griffin of Jacksonville, Fla., also survive.
  OBITUARY: McKie-Crothers funeral home of Tallulah is in charge of arrangements.
