Notes
a. Note:   Remembrances of Dolores
My mother told me that she married Herb when she was 21 year of age, being ignorant of
his alcohol abuse. She lived with him for several years at 2333 Flora Street, about a block
away from where my father lived at 2223 Flora Street. Sometime around April 1939, when
Herb was on one of his binges, he was hit by a car which broke his leg.
Mom decided that this was the opportune time to leave as he would not be able to follow her
with his leg in a cast. This fact was what his charge of divorce was based upon; and, it was
 granted for desertion.
There were no children born of this marriage. According to his death record he was married at the time he died in 1967. He was listed in
the Williams City Directory of 1935, while he was still married to my mom as being a letter carrier
for the Post Office. At that time, they were living at 311 Warner Street.
