a. Note:   From The Granville Sentinel, Granville, New York, 21 Apr 1954:
  "Thomas R. Jones
  Thomas R. Jones, 82, a resident of South Poultney for many years, died Friday at St. Clair [sic] Hospital in Schenectady, after a long period of ill health.
 Born in Wales, he was the son of Robert L. and Mary Griffin Jones.
 Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Elsie Farr [sic] of Schenectady, two sons, Raymond of South Poultney and Arthur of Schenectady; two sisters, Mrs. Hugh O. Parry of Brattleboro and Mrs. Hugh T. Parry of South Poultney.
 Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Roberts Funeral home, Poultney. Rev. J. R. McConanghy officiated. Bearers were John Roberts, Idris Ellis, Danny DeBonis, Joseph Parfundi of South Poultney. Burial was in Poultney cemetery."
  Note: His obituary gives his mother's name as Mary Griffin, but other records indicate she was Catherine Humphrey. This needs to be clarified.
