Arrests made in hit-run after 2-1/2 year investigation:
TROY - Two and a half years after a Schaghticoke man was killed by a hit-and-run driver, the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Department has charged two men with the fatal accident.
Michael Bloomfield and Leon Nadeau were charged with criminally negligent homicide and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, both felonies, the department said.
They allegedly were in a 1986 Ford Aerostar van that struck and killed Michael Jones, 48, of Main Street, Schaghticoke, as he attempted to remove an animal carcass from Route 40 in the Town of Schaghticoke.
