  According to the marriage records in Jasper, Martha lists her name as Mary E. Henson on the certificate.
  According to Betsy's death certificate her birth date was 6 December 1875, parents were Jim Henson and Sally Ingle, informate was Glen Lawson.
  She had four sisters and a brother (Newsletter #19, page 165).
  I believe the T.G. Lawson in the affidavit mentioned in the notes on Thomas Goulder is Thomas Goulder Lawson. This would indicate to me that Betsy was a relative of Robert Henson. Her father was a James Henson. Robert Henson had a brother by that name, therefor Robert could be Betsy's uncle.
  Betsy's husband, Thomas Goulder, had a half brother, Arthur, who married Nellie Mae Henson. She was the granddaughter of Robert and the daughter of Barney Gus Henson. Barney was born Oct. 1872, at Springhill near Nauvoo, Alabama and was about the same age as Betsy. This is another tie to Robert Henson's family.
  Betsy's death certificate states that she died at 7;20 PM; 7 September 1947 in Carbon Hill. She had lived there for 50 years prior to her death; age at that time was 71 years, 9 months and 1 day. Her birth date is given as 6 December 1975 (information furnished by her son Glen H. Lawson); family history has had it 6 January 1876 - age 71 would confirm the latter date; Birthplace simply shown as Walker County, Alabama. She was buried 9 September 1947 in Pisgah Cemetery, Carbon Hill. Certificate names Thomas G. Lawson as her deceased husband. Parents were Jim Henson, born Alabama and Sally Ingle, born Alabama.
