LAWSON, MAURICE A., "BUD", age 91 of Hoover passed away on Monday, February 8, 2010. He was born on May 20, 1918 in Carbon Hill, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellie and Chloe Lawson; daughter, Mauri Lawson; sister, Juanita Abercrombie; and grandson, Tom Lawson, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Judy Lawson of Hoover; son, Tom (Julia Ann) Lawson, Tulsa, OK; daughter, Toni Graves, Starkville, MS; grandchildren, Larry (Robin) Graves, Hendersonville, TN; Lawson (Joy) Graves, Starkville, MS; Reverend Bruce (Jenny) Case, Hattiesburg, MS; Catti (Stephen) Clanton, Huntsville, AL; Liz (Barry) Woodward, Ridgeland, MS; Rachel (David) Kelton, Dallas, TX; Whitney Lawson, New York City, NY; great-grandchildren, Wesley and Tanner Graves; Thomas Graves, Jr.; Tripp and Susannah Case; Maggi Clanton; Caroline and Case Woodward; Sarah Beth and Jake Kelton; and special dog, Fritz. Bud was a P-38 pilot during World War II. He had been a real estate broker since 1949. During his long and varied career he sold and developed properties in Birmingham, Huntsville, and Lake Martin. The service will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Elmwood Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel. Reverend Bruce Case will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Birmingham Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
