Note: Source: Marietta Time, Tues. Oct 29, 2002 MALONE, Fla. - John W. Price, 80, of Malone, formerly of Woodsfield, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at his home in Malone after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 20, 1922, in Woodsfield to Clarence E. and Hazel Gillispie Price. He was a past general chairman of the United Transportation Union. He was a veteran of the African and European Theaters of Operations during World War II. He was an avid golfer for more than 70 years. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jeannie Cline Price; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Jodi Grimm Price; one daughter, Stephanie and Nathan Shimer; six grandchildren, Kelli Price Chawla, Christian Price, Stacie McGarry Grose, Schuyler McGarry Strawser, Laura Shimer and Nik Shimer; and three great-grandchildren, Victoria Strawser, Rebecca Grose and Seth Grose. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home in Woodsfield with the Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Full military graveside services will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Woodsfield conducted by the Belmont Veterans Council. Visitation is from 2 to 4:30 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at the home of Mildred Cline Fliehman on Lewisville Road, Woodsfield.
