Born October 28, 1932 in Louisville, he was the son of Roxie Ann Goodlett and the late Bruce J. Vanderpool. He was owner of Terrace Acres Printing and Publishing, a former employee of Miller Printing and Publishing and of Readers Digest. He was a former resident of Oklahoma, and an army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors, addition to his mother, of Bryantsville, include: two sons, Wm. R. (Debbie) "Rusty" Vanderpool Jr., Collinsville, OK, and Jerry G. Vanderpool, Harrodsburg; one daughter, April Lynn (Bill) Graif, Tulsa, OK; three brothers, Buster Vanderpool, Danville, Charles Vanderpool, Camp Kennedy, Leslie Vanderpool, Bryantsville; one sister, Jo Ann Vanderpool, Frankfort; five grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, December 14, at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery with Rev. Barry Jeffries officiating. Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville. Pallbearers were Les Vanderpool, Charles Vanderpool, Rusty Vanderpool, Sherman Hogue, Nellus Estes and Mike Vaughan. Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Baptist Church, Faulkners Lane, Danville, KY.
