  Long Illness takes life of Salem woman: Mrs. Gladys Vivian Woodruff, 52, 2261 Hazel Avenue, died Sunday. Services will be held Wednesday. Born, Sept. 25, 1902, in Newberg to the late Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Hertig, Mrs. Woodruff has lived in Salem since 1928. Her long illness ultimately led to hospitalization. She was a member of Chadwick Chapter #37 of the Order of Eastern Star, Salem, and the Willamette Shrine #2 of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Salem. Survivors include a brother, Delmer Hertig, Portland and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Louise Woodruff, St. Paul and Violet Fasken, Tigard. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the W. T. Rigdon Chapel where the Rev. Ben Owen will officiate and the Willamette Shrine, W.S.J., will have ritualistic services. (The Statesman, Salem, OR, Tuesday, March 29, 1955)
