Mr. and Mrs. Vanderpool have lived the entire half century of their married life in Caldwell County, and for over 40 years have lived in the same house near Braymer.

About one o'clock a.m. April 8, 1947 he suffered a heart attack and passed away about 6 a.m. Mr. Vanderpool spent his entire life in Davis Township which was named for and settled first by his grandfather, Samuel Davis. February 25, 1883 he united in marriage with Miss Jenny Lamley. Two children: Oscar and Minnie. Married 2nd in 1889 Virginia Hays, 10 children, 6 daughters surviving.
