Note: 1782 Wilkes Co Tax List: Capt Moses Quest's District included: Winant Vanderpool. War of 1812 from Tennessee: Wincent Vanderpool, Pvt, enlisted 23 Sep 1813 - 1 Jan 1814 under Col Samuel Wear and Capt John Doak. Branch of Service: E. Tenn Vol Inf. Vincent Vanderpool, 2nd Lt, enlisted 13 Nov 1814 under Col Wm Johnson and Capt Henry Hunter, E. Tenn Militia. Discharged at Tazewell, Clairborne Co, TN. History of Ray County, Missouri (GS Call #977.819H2h) pages 583, 207 and 214: Married Nancy Linville about Christmas 1815. The marriage of Wynant, son of John, to Nancy Linville was the first reported marriage in the Buffalo Settlement in what would become part of Ray County. The histories have it that there was no minister as of yet in the area, and they had to travel quite a long way to the east to find a minister to perform the ceremony. List of debts due to Wm Lenoir which he expects never to collect dated 10 Apr 1825. MO, July 16, 1859: Winant Vanderpool vs children, Levi Lovell: "Appears to the satisfaction of the court here that Levi Lovell is indolent and otherwise incapable of raising and supporting his children. Nov 13, 1860: "Ordered that Winant Vanderpool be released from his obligation in the indenture in binding Maria Lovell, a poor child, to him and that the said Mariah Lovell be bound to Joseph A. Amount of $500. Name of Securities: Nancy Vanderpool, William S Wilson, David Teegarten. Settlement 22 Feb 1871. Winant Vanderpool, File V - Box 1: Nancy Vanderpool, Admin, 15 Nov 1869. Appraised estate $235, the same being personal property of allowed widow. 1 bed & bedstead appraised at $10, 6 chains at $3 and that Alfred Vanderpool by suit recovered from Admin the sum of $60. Original appraisement of $162 which is less than widow is entitled, etc. Appraisement 10 Jun 1865, signed by W. D. Hatfield, Jackson Mann and Robert Manley. No date: Nancy Vanderpool, widow of Wynant Vanderpool and admin of his Will, had to be issued a citation to give Alfred the horse that was listed as part of the settlement, but belonged to him.
