  Wynant Jr. served in the Black Hawk War (1832). On Dec 19, 1893, from Washburn Co. MO, age 82 years, he filed for a pension. He stated that he was born in Campbell Co. TN, at the age of 21 years, being 5'7" or 8" in height, blue eyes, black hair, fair complection, occupation farmer. He served as a private in the company commanded by Capt. William C. Pollers in the Regiment of Missouri Mounted Volunteers, commanded by John B. Clark in the Black Hawk Indian War. He enlistd at Richmond, MO, on or about the 18th day of July 1832, discharged 30 Sept 1832 at Richmond, MO. Since leaving the service he resided at Ferry' s point, later at Washburn, MO. He married Rebecca Barnes on the 11th day of October 1831 at Ferry's Point, MO. She was still living and blind for years in 1895. Wynant was a farmer & blacksmith. He obtained bounty land in 1859 or 1860 and was still living in 1893. (From his pension application)
