a. Note:   Abraham Vanderpool was born in 1766 in probably Rowan County, North Carolina. He appeared on a poll tax in 1797 in Wilkes County, North Carolina, showing he owned 200 acres. He was the church clerk between 1799 and 1831 for the Cove Creek Baptist Church (now Watauga County, North Carolina). He owned land in Wilkes County, North Carolina. He joined the Baptist church in 1799 in Ashe County, North Carolina. Between 1800 and 1830, he was the recording clerk for the Cove Creek Baptist Church in Ashe County, North Carolina. He owned land in Ashe County, North Carolina. Between 1811 and 1830 he was justice in the Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions in Ashe County, North Carolina. He died on 28 Aug 1831 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana and had his estate probated between 1831 and 1835 in Marion County, Indiana.

 Wilkes County on the head branch of Brushey Fork that runs into said creek above Baking King's Mill. Beginning at a chestnut tree in Thomas Linville Junior's line running west 25 chains 81 links to a spanish oak on the ridge above the plantation thence south 31 chains 62 links crossing the branch to a stake thence east 15 chains 81 links to a stake in Linville's line thence north 31 links 62 links with said line to the beginning as by the plat hereunto annexed...with all woods, waters, mines, minerals...to be registered in county of Wilkes within 12 months from date hereof 7 June 1799....
 Recorded in Secretary's office. Total of 669 acres of land owned in Wilkes and Ashe counties of North Carolina -- the area is now in Watauga County, near Cove Creek.
  Abraham, with his family, appeared in the censuses in 1800, 1810, 1820 and 1830 in Ashe County, North Carolina.
  Ashe Co. NC, Deed dated 9 Sept 1805 between William Johnson and Winant Vanderpool. Deed was proven in Ashe Co. NC court by oath of Abraham Vanderpool and registered Febraury 1806. This same deed of 50 acres was sold by Abraham Vanderpool to A. Baird (his son-in-law) 7 May 1831.
