(CAVEATED BY JOHN SIMPSON) IT IS SAID THAT WILLIAM DROWNED IN A MILL POND. 1771 Surry Co. NC tax list includes: William Vanderpool Revolutionary Army Accounts, Books 1-6, Volum e 50, page 241. This report lists a William Vanderpool living in 1774 in Wilkes Co. NC and wherein William Vanderpool was paid 1:8:0 for 14 days of militia du ty to Cross Creek. Three Forks/Cove Creek Baptist Church Minutes, 1790-1895. September, the Friday before the third Saturday in 1801 the Abstract of Princ iples held by Baptists which were published in Philadelphia in 1742 was accepte d as the standard for this church. Signed by Dudley Farthing and William Vander pool. William Vanderpool also appears on page 22 of this typescript dated secon d Saturday, July 1809, as a delegate from Cove Creek Baptist Church to the Asso ciation meeting to be held at Little Do Meeting House, Carter Co. TN.
