 She was employed by the Lincoln Public Schools for 42 years as teacher of American Studies at Everett Junior High School, but mostly at Lincoln East High School. She served on curriculum committees and was President of the Lincoln Teacher’s Credit Union. She volunteered to teach naturalized citizens to assist in gaining US citizenship. After retiring and moving to Gretna, NE she was employed by Gretna High School for 5 years, teaching micro and macroeconomics and sponsored the Academic Decathlon with two students receiving national gold medal awards. Joan was a lifelong Christian and shared her love of Jesus Christ to all whom she met.
