Farmer cattle-feeder in Harvard, Nebraska, and then Valley County, Nebraska. Member of the American Legion. In 1926 he owned the south half of the south half of section 25, Enterprise Township, Valley County. He moved to Tucson in 1945 and then to Prescott Arizona because of his health. Arnold died of asthma and heart conditions, having packed a great deal of activity and accomplishment into a rather short life. Mr. Bredthauer was one of the most popular and well-to-do farmers of the Mira Valley area and was an extensive cattle feeder. He was also active in church work, remaining a member of St. John's Evangelical church throughout life and an elder for the past six years. He also was a member of the American Legion and was active in township, school and civic affairs, always being on the side of progress and keeping up his interest in the affairs of his home community even after health reasons required his residence elsewhere.
