Note:   Dale attended the University of Nebraska for two years. He opened the Bredthauer Motor Co. in Burwell in the late 1930s. He served in the Air Force in World War II. He enlarged the dealership building after the war. He closed his garage in Burwell in 1958, moved to Grand Island, where he ran a car and truck dealership, Hiway GMC until 1969, when he closed the business due to ill health. He was a charter member of VFW Post No. 6155 in Burwell. Dale was also a pilot, and helped distribute much needed medicine during the Blizzard of 1948. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiwanis Club, and the American Legion.
