Note:   Farmer in Vinton Township, Valley Co, Nebraska. Three weeks after his marriage, he and his wife came to America and settled in York County, Nebraska where they lived for three years. In the spring of 1892 they came to Valley county where they bought their home in Vinton township and where they lived since. He was a loving husband and father always doing all he could for his family and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Since childhood he has been a member of the Lutheran church, and a steadfast believer in Jesus Christ. He had no enemies, but numbered his friends by those who knew him. In the year of 1900 he suffered from an attack of typhoid fever and was in poor health the remaining years of his life, suffering severely the last five years. Bright's disease set in and death came as a great relief. He was always of a cheerful disposition, which he maintained until the end despite much hard suffering.
