 Herman came to the US on 31 July 1926 aboard the Olympic, Esbjerg Denmark to New York. On 12 Aug 1927 he stated his intention to naturalize. In 1930 he was lodging in Denver Colorado and working as a lineman for the telephone company. In 1940 he was working as a timberman helper in a metal mine and residing in Climax, Colorado.
