Note:   Or Burgdorf or Bergdorf. He served in Co. K. 5 MO. Cav., GAR. He and his family drove overland from Cape Girardeau County, Missouri to Barton County, Kansas. On the way they fell in with the teams of E. L. Chapman, who was enroute with his family to make their home in Barton County. Farmed in Buffalo Township, Barton County, Kansas in 1880. He had been feeble for four months before his death, though a year earlier as stout and robust as any man in the county.
