Note:   "Minnie" was confirmed at the top of her class. She worked as a nanny for Wilhelm and Ottilie (Ziemke) Brose in 1883. She went to Nordhastedt, near Heide, Holstein, in the spring of 1887 to work on a farm. She moved to the US, at the age of 17 years, with Mathilde and August Graul, sailing on the S.S. Donau from Bremen to New York, passenger ship list dated 24 July 1889. She did housework in York Nebraska before her marriage. A quilt she worked in 1930 is in the International Quilt Study Center and Museum in Lincoln, Nebraska. She loved to sing. She died of angina.
