He served in Vancouver B.C. 1937, Budapest Hungary 1939, Lisbon Portugal, Sophia Bulgaria 1945, Madrid Spain, Bilbao Spain, Ottowa Canada, and Bombay India. He was Acting Director, Office of British Commonwealth and Northern European Affairs, Bureau of European Affairs, Department of State, September 1961-September 1962. He became Senior Inspector of the Foreign Service. He died of cancer.
