Note:   Robert was confirmed at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church near Lyons in 1931. He was a pilot in WWII, having enlisted in the Army on 9 Nov 1942 and being assigned to the Air Corps, and attaining the rank of 1st lieutenant. He had spent a year in college before enlisting. He operated a grain elevator and cattle feeding business in Julesburg Colorado. He died of colon and liver cancer.
