Note:   Helena and Ben and their two children Emma and Edward came to the US from Königsberg, Germany on March 23, 1881, aboard the Herder, bound from Hamburg and Havre to New York (passenger list dated 16 Mar 1881). Emma was three years old and Edward was one year old the day after they arrived. It took them five weeks to cross the Atlantic. They lived near Norwalk Wisconsin until 1890 when they moved to Nebraska. Their home was about 2.5 miles west of North Loup Nebraska. Also moving to Nebraska from Wisconsin at this time were Helena's mother, Anna Zabel Foth, her brothers Gustav and Emil Foth. About 1895 the Schwartz family moved to Neosho, Missouri in three covered wagons. They only stayed there a year, then moved to Atlanta Georgia. From there they moved to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
