Note:   In 1940 he and his brother Raymond were living in Sioux City and working as salesmen for a produce company. He served in the U.S. Army Cavalry as a mess sergeant stationed with the military police at Fort Des Moines during World War II. He worked as a plant manager at Sherman Food for many years. He owned and operated Strike and Spare bowling supply shop from 1958 to 1969. He was an avid bowler for many years and was inducted into the Iowa Bowlers Hall of Fame. He had no children.
