Note:   When about ten years of age, he moved with his parents, settling first at Galesburg, Illinois, and two years later on a farm about two miles south of Altona, Illinois. At the age of about nineteen years, he went to work in the gold mines in Colorado. He initially homesteaded one mile southwest of Greeley on what was later known as the John Wynn place. Then he moved his family to the Parnell precinct. In 1918 he and his wife moved to Scotia. He was a Methodist. He helped to organize the first County Board in Greeley County. In 1906 he was elected a delegate to the state Republican convention. He held many offices in Greeley County. He was a Mason. He died due to a complication of heart trouble and Bright's disease.
