I was unable to locate the family in the 1915 New York state census. However, "Harry W Taubin gro 177 E 100th h 179 do" appears on page 1809 of the New York City directory for 1915. The residence is same one at which Leo will be enumerated in 1925, so Harry must have left the factory and opened a small business.
Leo's father Harry died 31 October 1916, in New York. I was unable to locate Leo, siblings, and mother Dora in the 1920 census. New York city directories are missing and/or incomplete for the 1920 timeframe.

Leo appears in the 1929 Harrison-Kearney city directory, New Jersey, on page 612: "Leo Taubin, clk 253 Kearney av K r (3) 257 do".
There is a brief squib in the Bridgewater, NJ, Courier-News, Monday, 22 July 1929, main edition, page 16, that mentions a Leo Taubin that could be ours, although it could be his cousin Leo (b. 1901, son of Max, who in the 1930 census was residing in Brooklyn):

Leo Taubin of Brooklyn, N. Y., a salesman, who was arrested by Officer Norman B. Schuyler, was fined by Judge Giddes for vending without a permit.
Leo ought to be at the Kearney Avenue address in the 1930 census, but I was unable to locate him in the census index, or by browsing 253 and 257 Kearney Avenue. Note that this address is very close to where future wife Dorothy Tiber resided (301 Kearney Avenue) in the 1930 census.
