a. Note:   t Westerly c1793. This ship was used in the 'Green Island' fishery off the St. Lawrence River. In 1835 he was recorded as a former Private of the Rhode Island Militia who had begun collecting a pension in October of 1833. The last payment of pension benefits was made in 1844 as he died a few weeks later. He had served under Colonel H. Babcock from Oct. 1775 to Dec. 1776. Records of the 7th Day Baptist Church refer to him as 'Captain' Adam.
