Note: rms in Coffey Co., Kansas in December 1854. Kansas had just been created as a Territory in May of that year. William and Alban selected farms along Long creek and built houses. In February 1855 they returned to Oneida Co., New York to bring their families to their new homes. His adopted son Russel 'Allie' was born in Kansas in November, 1858. We have found no records of Allie's natural parents. 1859 Kansas Territorial Census and 1860 census Avon, Coffey Co., Kansas, 38, born NY, farmer. 1862 his son Russel died back in New York and was buried there by his grandfather Russel.
