a. Note:   t Westerly, 31 Oct 1728, John Saunders, probably son of John and Silva, or Silena, Saunders, born at Westerly, 13 Oct 1705, and died there in 1777. On the 6th of March, 1747, John Saunders, Jr. gave to Benoni Smith recipt for his wife's legacy in her father's will (Westerly C. & P. Rec., iii, 331). His own will, dated 10 Jan 1777, recorded 25 Feb 1777, at Westerly, RI (C&P Rec., iv, 344), names wife, Read, Sarah Lanphere, sons David, Benjaman, Wait and Joshua, daughter, Mary Stillmanh in his will dated 1777. So she was living on that date.
