The caption below reads, 'Harrod JACKSON, grandfather of Hartley SUMMERS, built the building now occupied by Roethe, Buhrow and Roethe, in the 1880's and opened a meat market there. He also sold meat from a wagon filled with ice. He retired about 1920, and the building was sold to the Milton Power Company run by J. H. BURDICK. After the Wisconsin Power & Light Company bought the Milton Power Company, they maintained the office until the late 1960's'
