a. Note:   'The Milton Courier', Milton Wisconsin, Thursday, June 15, 1967, p 5. Mrs. Ann McNitt, 94, widow of Ira Young McNitt, one of the Pioneer Settlers in Milton, died Sunday morning, June 11, in Edgerton Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past few months.
 Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, in the Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton Junction, The Rev. James Burd of First Methodist Church of Milton, officiating. Burial was in Milton Cemetery.
 Mrs. McNitt was born in Spaulding, England, Nov. 26, 1872. She came to Milton at the age of seven with her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Herod Jackson, a brother, and two sisters. The Jackson family first lived in the Milton House, which has now become a museum. She attended Milton Academy for two years after which she taught for seven years in country schools. She was married to Ira Young McNitt in 1900. Following the death of her husband in 1910, she worked as a night telephone operator for the North-West Telephone Company for 41 years until her retirement on Sept. 1, 1951. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Milton for over 50 years. Her only son, Howard, died in 1962.
 Surviving are a brother, Dr, Hartley Jackson of Chevy Chase, Maryland; several nephews and nieces, including Hartley Summers of Milton; and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Howard McNitt of Minneapolis, Minn.
 Memorials are preferred to the First Methodist Church of Milton, or to the charity of your choice.
