a. Note:   EARL BROWN COE was born in Oswego County, NY, a son of George Earnest Coeand May Louise Brown. He married Lela Belle Alger, the daughter of Austin H. Alger and Gracie E. Kilts, in 1915 in Onondaga County, NY. They had children Wendell, Clayton and Kenneth.
  Earl moved to Phoenix in about 1937 and worked for the Washington National Insurance Company in 1942. His father was also in Phoenix by then.
  By 1940 Lela had married Clyde C. Howard and they were in Syracuse. Sons Clayton, his wife Virginia E. and daughter Kathleen E., and Kenneth were living with them.
  Earl became the owner of the Klohes Kloset in the Wagon Wheel Shopping Center in Phoenix.
  Earl was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Elks Lodge, was a vice president and charter member of the Camelback Mountain Lion's Club.
  He was survived by his wife Ethel; sons, Wendell, Ruppert, ID; Clayton, Syracuse, NY; and Kenneth, Columbus, GA; step-sons Charles Winfrey, North Brook, IL; and Robert Winfrey, Houston, TX; a sister, Dorcas Haley, Santa Rosa; thirteen grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
