  I have been told he had left a foxhole to retrieve supplies and on returning was shot. He later died of his wounds.
  He is buried at the Normandy American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, France Plot C Row 26 Grave 40.
  He served with the 357th Infantry Regiment, 90th Infantry Division.
  He was awarded the Purple Heart.
