Elizabeth was initially identified in the book "Genealogy of Hollon and Related Families: Early Settlers of Eastern Kentucky and their Descendants,” which was written by Clay Hollon, and was published in 1958. John was buried in the Hollon-Terrell Cemetery in Wolfe County, Kentucky, USA. Barron, updated May 22, 2020 The Hazel Green Herald newspaper from Wolfe County, Kentucky, USA, on Thursday, November 11, 1909, contains an article written by James Buchanan Hollon about the surviving children of John and Polly Hollon having a reunion on on Holly Creek. It mentions Elizabeth, and transcription of the article is listed under James Buchanan Hollon. DEATH OF ELIZABETH TERRELL Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated May 22, 2020 The death date of Elizabeth has not been determined. Elizabeth is buried in Wolfe County, Kentucky, and her headstone says the following: "Elizabeth, wife of John H. Terrell, born Oct 5, 1837." 1958 BOOKS MENTIONING JOHN TERRELL AND ELIZABETH HOLLON Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated May 22, 2020 The book "Genealogy of Hollon and Related Families: Early Settlers of Eastern Kentucky and their Descendants,” was written by Clay Hollon, and was published in 1958. It should be noted that Clay was the nephew of Elizabeth. Page 12 lists Elizabeth Hollon as a daughter of John Hollon and Polly Gibbs, and lists the following information. “Betsey Hollon (first child of John and Polly) married John H. Terrill, son of Hezekiah, born Jan. 22, 1833, died Feb. 13, 1907. The had ten children: (1) Charles Logan, born Mar. 7, 1860, married Caroline Cope; (2) Emma, married William Halsey; (3) William Lee, married Martha Burton; (4) Mary Isabelle, born Feb. 28, 1868, died May 1952, married Isaac Hollon, (son of Preston and Martha, grandson of William and Candus, and great grandson of John and Charity) born Oct. 3, 1859, died Feb. 21, 1947 - had no children; (5) Harrison married Mollie Gevedon; (6) Evaline, married Dave Gevedon; (7) Elizabeth married John R. Hobbs; (8) Bruce married Margaret Taulbee; (9) Lou Ellen, born Dec. 25, 1876, married Auburn Hatton; (10) John Richmond, married America Ellen Taulbee, daughter of Elsberry and wife Emily McQuinn, and granddaughter of William and Mary.” The book “Early and Modern History of Wolfe County,” was compiledby the Wolfe County Woman's Club, and published in 1958. Page 123 lists Betsey Hollon as a daughter of John Hollon, Jr. and Polly Gibbs, that she was born in 1837, and married John H. Terrill.
