Notes
a. Note:   RESEARCH STANDARD APPLIED
Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated December 5, 2020
Agnes Mazur is my maternal third great aunt, which is via common ancestry with Joseph Mazur and Magdalena Janasek. Agnes was initially identified by her obituary.
Based on the application of recognized genealogical standards of proof, the descent and family structure of Agnes Mazur is sufficiently established beyond any reasonable doubt. The basis for the descent of Agnes begins with her obituary, which identifies multiple surviving siblings. The death record of her sister Michalina identifies their parents as Joseph Mazur and Magdalena Janasek. The basis for the family structure begins with the census records. This has been subsequently supported with the additional interlocking records and documentation listed further below.
From a research perspective, the potential for spelling variations of Polish names need to be recognized, which can result from the effects of language, gender, and grammar. Agnieszka is a Polish name, and the English variation is Agnes. Jan is a Polish name, a Latin variation is Joannes, a German variation is Johann, and an English variation is Johann. The surname of John is found with an English spelling of Lukaszewski, and found with a Polish language spelling of Łukaszewki, and others including Łukaszeski.
