James was initially identified in the book Hollon and Related Families, published in 1958 by Clay Hollon. Page 51 lists James as a son of Jeremiah Elkins and Esther Richmond. The page lists the following information: “James B., born Ky. 1855, died 1937, age 82 yrs., married Sarah Rose.” Page 58 lists the following information: “James B. Elkins (9th child of Jeremiah and Esther) b. 1855 d. 1935, married Sarah Rose, who died 1937, had five children: (1) Lexie, b. 1886, d. 1957; (2) Morton, b. 1888; (3) John R (iii) b. 1893, d. 1948; (4) Steve, b. 1898, d. 1953; (5) Lulu, b. 1905.” The information has been subsequently supported via the records and documentation listed below. 1860 CENSUS OF JAMES ELKINS • Researched by Timothy J.
