Notes
a. Note:   RESEARCH STANDARD APPLIED
Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated June 6, 2021
Mary Gertrude Butterfield is my maternal second great aunt, which is via common ancestry with George Bancroft Butterfield and Annie Gertrude Papineau. Mary was initially identified in the book "Genealogy of Hollon and Related Families: Early Settlers of Eastern Kentucky and their Descendants,” which was written by Clay Hollon, and was published in 1958.

The basis for the descent of Mary begins with the census record, which shows her living with her parents. This is followed by her birth record, which lists the names of both parents.
