Notes
a. Note:   RESEARCH STANDARD APPLIED
Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated September 13, 2020
Joseph Wright Barron is my paternal second great uncle, which is via common ancestry with Joseph Worland Barron and Mary Elizabeth Wright. Joseph was initially identified by Jean Lebal and Sharon Barron.
Based on the application of recognized genealogical standards of proof, the descent of Joseph Wright Barron is sufficiently established beyond any reasonable doubt. The basis for the descent of Joseph begins with the death record, which lists the full names of both parents. This is followed by the census record, which shows him living with his parents. This has been subsequently supported with the additional interlocking records and documentation listed further below.
In his 1895 letter to his brother, Joseph mentions a wife in Buffalo, and implies that they were separated. This would mean that he was previously married before marrying Anna. There is an April 7, 1890 marriage index record for a Joseph W. Barron and Louisa Conrad in Lockport, Niagara County, New York, but it is uncertain at this time of this is the same Joseph. The 1892 census shows Joseph living with his parents, so if it is the same Joseph, they were already separated by 1892. The 1896 marriage record of Joseph and Anna indicates that he was not previously married. This could simply be in error, or it might imply that he was being deceptive, and not divorced from this prior wife. The 1900 census record indicates that Joseph and Anna had no children. After Joseph died, Anna married William Stears, and then T. Frank McGuire.
