Barron, updated December 20, 2017 The following appeared in the Forest Republication newspaper from Crandon, Wisconsin, on Thursday, December 6, 1923, and was identified via the research of Steve Duffrin: "Resident of City Twenty-Two Years Called by Death. Wm. G. Duffrin succumbs to three months illness burial Sunday. Wm. G. Duffrin, who had been a resident of Crandon twenty-two years, died Thanksgiving morning at his home at nine o'clock after three months illness of heart trouble and complications. He was born Jan. 13, 1872 in the southern part of the state. He had been employed by Martin Georgeson as camp cook at Bessemer, Mich. The deceased was united in marriage to Miss Laura Ratliff in 1916, and is survived by his widow, his three children, Vivian aged 8, Lena aged 2 yrs. and 6 months, two brothers, Charles of Stephenson, Mich. and Joe of Marinette, two sisters, Mrs. Rose Warner of Marinette and one sister living at Milwaukee. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home, Rev. Ash officiated. Burial was at the local cemetery. The people who attended the funeral from out of town were: Charles Duffrin and Peter Martin of Stephenson, Mich., Mrs. Rose Warner and daughter and George Duffrin of Marinette." Weddle, owns home valued at $1,500, farm, head of household, male, white, age 61, married, educated 3 years of college, born in Ohio, lived in same house on April 1, 1935, employed for pay, worked 60 hours last week, occupation is farmer on own farm, worked 52 weeks in 1939, income of $0, has income from other sources; Grace A. Weddle, wife, female, white, age 54, married, educated 2 years of high school, born in Wisconsin, lived in same house on April 1, 1935, not employed, not seeking work, does not have employment history, no income from other sources." 1966 DEATH OF GRACE WEDDLE Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated January 5, 2018 The U.S. Social Security Death Index, 1935-2014 lists the following record: "Name: Grace Weddle; SSN: 313-20-2188; Last Residence: Wisconsin; Born: 24 Aug 1885; Died: Jan 1966; State (Year) SSN issued: Indiana (Before 1951)." The Wisconsin, Death Index, 1959-1997 lists the following record: "Name: Grace Weddle; Age: 80; Sex: F (Female); Birth Date: abt 1886; Death Date: 7 Jan 1966; Location: Mari (May be abbreviated); Certificate: 001276." The following appeared in the Green Bay Press Gazette newspaper from Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Saturday, January 8, 1966: "Anniversary Crash Fatal to Woman, 90. Wausaukee - A woman injured in a two car crash shortly before she and her husband were to entertain at open house for their golden wedding anniversary died Friday afternoon in Marinette General Hospital. She was Mrs. Sandford Weddle, 80, Star Route, Wausaukee. Mrs. Weddle and her husband were returning home from church Dec. 18 when their car was involved in a head-on collision with another car in Wausaukee. Weddle, seriously injured, was released from the hospital Friday. The former Grace Palmer was born in Wausau. She was married Dec. 18, 1918, in Chicago. Survivors are her husband; three sons, all in South Bend, Ind.; two daughters, including Mrs. Clarence Dunn, Marinette; 21 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren, and a sister, Miss Jennie Strege, Wausau. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Augustine's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the Moraski Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Sunday."
