The London, England, Births and Baptisms, 1813-1906, lists the following record: "Name: Virginie Marie Papineau; Record Type: Baptism; Estimated Birth Date: abt 1851; Baptism Date: 19 Nov 1851; Father's Name: William Papineau; Mother's Name: Harriet Papineau; Parish or Poor Law Union: Bromley St Leonard St Mary; Borough: Tower Hamlets; Register Type: Parish Registers." Barron, updated November 26, 2015 The Census of England enumerated April 2, 1871 lists Virginie in the household of a widow, Elizabeth M. Hobyn, in Rickling, Essex, England. The following information was transcribed from the actual document: “Vinginie M. Papineau, boarder, unmarried, female, age 19, governess, born in Middlesex Bromley.” 1881 CENSUS OF VIRGINIE PAPINEAU · Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated November 26, 2015 The UK Census enumerated on April 3, 1881 lists Virginia in Bovey Tracey, Devon, England in the Devon House of Mercy. The following information was transcribed from the actual document: “Virginia Papineau, unmarried, female, age 29, occupation: Sister of Mercy, born: London.” The first six lines, which includes Virginia, appears to be staff. Starting on line after Virginie it says "All others are inmates of the house and are being trained for domestic service." The prior page lists nine other women with the occupation listed as "Sister of Mercy." 1934 DEATH OF VIRGINIE PAPINEAU · Researched by Timothy J.
