Notes
a. Note:   RESEARCH STANDARD APPLIED
Researched by Timothy J. Barron, updated May 18, 2021
Mary Emily Butterfield is my maternal third great aunt, which is via common ancestry with George Bancroft Buckley Butterfield and Emily Harrison. Mary was initially identified by her baptism record, which lists the full names of both parents. Probably as she died as an infant, Mary is not listed in the family tree book “Genealogy of Hollon and Related Families: Early Settlers of Eastern Kentucky and Their Descendants,” which was written by Clay Hollon, and published in 1958.
Based on the application of recognized genealogical standards of proof, the descent of Mary Emily Butterfield is sufficiently established beyond any reasonable doubt. The basis begins with her birth and baptism records, which lists the full names names of both parents. This is followed by her death record, which also lists the full name of her father. This information has been subsequently supported via the additional interlocking records and documentation listed below.
